American Sign Language or ASL is the main form of communication for the Deaf and many hard of hearing individuals.  Literally, you "write in the air", using a language developed in the 1800's in France.  Some people see ASL simply as a series of gestures, but nothing could be farther from the truth.  ASL has specific grammar and syntax and each sign represents a specific word or though. 

Come to the Deaf Cultural Center and "Write in the Air!"
